We are Roger Cooper and Fran Cooper, we live in Bracknell, which is in Berkshire, England - about 30 miles West of London.  We are in our thirty-ninth year of marriage, so far without having murdered each other, and we have two grown up kids,  four Grandsons, a Granddaughter and a couple of cats.   We both work reasonably locally and try to live lives to the full on the grounds that "This is it - it isn't a rehearsal".  Our greatest enjoyments are from Live Entertainment , Good Restaurants (especially ones with good wine cellars) and The Company of Good Friends.   Roger is also a compulsive communicator - which is probably the raison d'etre for this web-site, and certainly something to do with his fetish for writing an open diary each week !

The pictures below introduce us, our family and some of the animals we care most about.

CAROLINE, PAUL, JAKE and GEMMA

Our daughter is an accountant who likes working with horses. She lives with her husband Paul, their son Jake, who is three and their daughter Gemma (born Jan 2010).  They live in Divide, Colorado, USA - two miles above sea level, up in the Rockies to the west of Colorado Springs. Together with her father-in-law Terry they own and manage an hotel in the nearby town of Woodland Park

RICHARD,  LIZ, JAMES, MATTHEW & DAVID
Our Son and Daughter-in-Law - Both are doctors (Chemistry and Physics respectively - not medical) living in Didcot - with their three sons. James is six, Matthew is three and David was born in May 2009.   Liz is occupied as a full time Mother and Rich uses his expertise in X-Ray Chemical Crystallography working for a local company based around his old university site in Oxford.

THE ANIMALS

We have two cats who allow us to share the house with them.
Willow (16), is a solid little black cat with a white bib and socks.  She is a lovely cat, but is spooked and afraid of her own shadow - she prefers to hide when we have visitors.
Blossom (10) , is a fluffy hooligan.  she is all sorts of colours but her face markings indicate that she is basically a confused tabby.  She has a tail like a foxes brush. She likes company and is extremely affectionate.

CAROLINE'S MENAGERIE

Wolfie

Caroline has a beautiful Appaloosa horse named Wolfie (real name Tober Yellow Wolf)
Mr. Wolf is well educated - he spent several terms at Hartpury College near Gloucester;  and while Caroline was studying "Equine Sciences" he was reading hay and mares.  Wolfie is almost thirty years old and now that Caroline is far away for most of the year he has retired to live with some friends in a field near Farnham Royal.  Fran & Roger visit him frequently to feed him carrots and apples.  Caroline comes home whenever she can to prove she still loves him.

Caroline and Paul also have a Jack Russell terrier named Benson.  He is a bundle of trouble - but very loveable. His favourite pastime is chewing things - especially rubber things.  Now he barks with an American accent - having moved to America with them.   Initially he lived in Lake Tahoe, California, then after a brief stay in Albuquerque, New Mexico, he moved to his current kennel up in the Colorado Rockies.

Rich and Dreamy and Coosa

Caroline also has a beautiful American horse, another appaloosa, who is named Rich and Dreamy.  (Rich for short) He is the one at her shoulder in this picture.  The other horse (the "paint pony") is named Coosa and technically belongs to her father-in-law Terry - but Caroline looks after him.   Caroline is lucky enough to have seven acres of fields around her home in Divide - nearly two miles above sea level in the Colorado Rockies. The weather is glorious in summer and deep deep snow in Winter.   They also have occasional visits from mountain lions, moose, bears and coyotes.
